GIS Day Camp at Portland State University
Do you know any female or female-identified high school student interested in learning about GIS from women in GIS at a GIS Day Camp at Portland State University.
Portland State University is hosting a FREE week long camp for high school aged girls to learn about maps and GIS this summer. The camp will explore contemporary issues in transportation planning, and how spatial analysis can help us address these issues. Students will learn to make maps that visualize data and tell stories about transportation related topics. Camp participants won’t just be limited to the classroom though, they will also engage in activities and field trips lead by women working in GIS and transportation planning. The class will be held on the PSU campus downtown from July 8th - 12th 2019. This is a day camp, held from 10am - 4pm each day. Transportation assistance is available if needed.
