Demonstration of an ArcGIS Online application used by City of Eugene wastewater and stormwater pollution control technicians to perform upstream trace and subsequent filter on the City’s stormwater infrastructure to track the discharge of illicit chemicals into the system.

Sarah Zaleski, Will Dowdy, and Anne Fifield, City of Eugene Planning and Development:

City of Eugene PDD staff are exploring ways to illustrate the geographical distribution of property tax data.  This project is seen as a stepping stone to further potential conversations around issues such as geographical distribution of tax revenue, property values, and planning policies, and will also explore using 3- dimensional mapping as a tool in telling the story.

Eric Cariaga, City of Eugene Parks and Open Space:

Demonstration of ArcGIS Online applications being used in Urban Forestry and for the Streetlight Updates project, focusing on editable Feature Services and use of mobile devices for real-time updates from the field.  Also demonstrating how the Operations Dashboard utilizes web maps to monitor activities and create reports (i.e. streetlight installations in real time).

Pilot projects at City of Springfield to help operations field crews streamline asset management workflow.  Using a variety of products, including INFOR, FME and ArcGIS Online, the City is creating intuitive and easy-to-use mobile applications to help field crews complete tasks more efficiently.

Land managers in Benton County are embarking on a joint project to produce a publicly-accessible, interactive map and website for all trails within Benton County. Hear about the project's evolution and about how partners are collaborating to build common GIS trail layers and attributes as they work together to launch the website in 2013.

 

2:00 pm - 2:45 pm - GROW HKC and GeoMobile GIS Technology helps with the fight against obesity, Lena Etuk (Oregon State University and GROW HKC Project) and Craig Greenwald (Technical Director and Mobile GIS Software Developer, GeoMobile Innovations Inc.)

The GROW HKC (Generating Rural Options for Weight Healthy Kids &

Communities) team, GIS and GeoMobile geo-photo processing technology is bolstering efforts in the fight to curb childhood obesity. The GROW HKC project is a model example of a collective effort from government, education, private technology business, and invaluable participation of community volunteer resources in collecting critical research data.

GeoMobile Innovations, Inc. has provided expertise and assisted GROW HKC with deployment of inexpensive GPS/camera systems, and automated data transfer and GIS route/photo tools to streamline volunteer and GIS processing work-flows. A look at the workflow and basic function of these tools will be included.
