Effectively using ArcGIS Online in your organization- (overview and demonstration - 1 hour)
The ArcGIS products form a comprehensive system for designing and managing solutions through the application of geographic knowledge. ArcGIS Online is a new addition to the ArcGIS system and offers a new paradigm for providing access to GIS to everyone. It provides new capabilities to enable more people to use GIS and extend the reach of your existing GIS system within your organization.
This presentation will briefly describe the capabilities of ArcGIS Online (including recent additions) and how these capabilities can benefit your organization. Guidelines will also be provided on how to effectively deploy and use ArcGIS Online in your organization. To find out more about ArcGIS Online for Organizations, check out these videos.http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/arcgisonline/index.html#//010q00000003000000 ArcGIS Online for Organizations “Hands On” workshop (2.5 hours):
Following the overview presentation, attendees are welcome to stay in the meeting room and participate in a “hands on” workshop with ArcGIS Online for Organizations. For those attendees participating in the workshop, you will need to bring a laptop computer (PC or Mac) with wireless network capability and a modern web browser installed. We also recommend that participants be able to get access to their email on their laptop. ESRI staff would like to invite the workshop participants to register in advance of the workshop session so that user accounts can be established. Please feel free to ”bring your own data” – shapefiles, CSV, GPX – as well as a project that you may be working on that has a need to create a web map. Optional “Goodies” to bring along on your laptop: ArcGIS Desktop 10.1 installed on laptop (Basic,Standard,or Advanced) Microsoft Office 2010 with the “Esri Maps for Office” plug-in installed. The plug-in is available here: http://www.esri.com/software/arcgis/arcgisonline/features/download
