COGIS Meeting: Web Mapping – Local Examples & Discussion
Date: April 10, 2013 2:30 - 5:00pm
Location: City of Bend Council Chambers; 710 NW Wall St, Bend, OR
Local users will showcase a number of web mapping applications that are currently in production. This is a great chance to look behind the scenes and find out about the different decisions that went into building the apps, as well as the platforms used, infrastructure needed and costs to maintain. The City of Redmond will demonstrate an iPad application for working in the field with public works data based on the ArcSDE / ArcGIS Services Online model. Deschutes County will demonstrate their new upgrade to LAVA using ArcGIS Server’s Silverlight API. The U.S. Forest Service will show some Java Script ArcGIS Server development for weed and other habit modeling scenarios. Finally, in the Open Source realm, Crook County will highlight a GeoMoose application that nine other Oregon Counties use and has been made available for free.
After the presentations we will open up the floor for questions, comments, and a round table discussion. If you would like to showcase your web application, please let us know and we will find time in the schedule.
